The first time he met Cindy, he was at a party and thought she was with someone else. She stood out in his mind, and from that moment Troy somehow knew that she was special...but he was too shy to do anything about it. After the party was over, he inquired with his cousin as to whether or not Cindy was available. He found out that she was going to Vegas at the same time he was planning to be there, so he texted her and asked if she wanted to "hang out". His heart sank when he saw her response back to him, basically telling him that she was tired and wasn't feeling up to it. He graciously texted her back wishing her a safe trip...and that's what caught her attention. Cindy couldn't help but feel that there was indeed something special about this Troy-person that was texting her. He was a mere acquaintance, but his sensitivity piqued her interest.
Once they both returned home, there were a few more "dates". Group outtings where the "sensitive guy" refused to sit next to her (against his friends' persistent urgings, he refused to sit next to her at the movies and instead left an open chair between the two of them), and a bowling session that left something to be desired. Cindy wondered if Troy truly was interested in her, and finally decided to buy him a drink...she eventually broke through his nervousness and brought him out of his "shell".
A couple months later, Troy proudly declared to his work collegues, "She's the one...definitely the one." He said it with such conviction. His mind was set.
Now Cindy wonders what happened to that sweet, sensitivy guy she first met...the one that she couldn't get to even talk to her. She's learned to tolerate and smile (albeit somewhat painfully) through his jokes, knowing that he will always have that sensitive side that first caught her attention and eventually lead to love.
Congratulations on your engagement, Troy and Cindy. Thank you for sharing your story with us...more to come in a couple of months! Here's your sneak peek:
